As Food Frontier continues our evolution to support the changing landscape of alternative proteins, we’ve welcomed long-term board member David Bucca to step up into the role of Interim Executive Chair.
After nearing the completion of his term as Executive Chair, Food Frontier Founder Thomas King has made the decision to step down, though will continue to provide targeted support in an advisory capacity.
David has been integral to the success of Food Frontier since its inception in 2017, beginning with his role as a founding Director. His deep knowledge of the sector built through his long tenure with Food Frontier and role as founder and CEO of precision fermentation company Change Foods will continue to pay dividends for our organisation.
“It’s been immensely rewarding to be a part of Food Frontier’s changing role in leading the narrative around emerging proteins for the ANZ region to date,” said Bucca. “The organisation has strategically evolved – from first establishing ‘the what’ and ‘the why’ for this nascent sector with foundational thought leadership and research, to now working hard to facilitate ‘the how’ as a critical convener in the ecosystem.”
“I’m looking forward to supporting how Food Frontier continues to deliver on its mission as emerging proteins enter a new era, and the sector will see that in full force with our bold new approach to AltProteins 25 this year.”
David will play an active role in providing strategic guidance around key research projects currently in play and the upcoming AltProteins 25 conference. He will also work closely with recently promoted Executive Director Hannah Andersen on navigating Food Frontier’s transition to a future state to meet the changing needs of the sector.
