Food Frontier announces date for AltProteins 23
AltProteins 23, Australia and New Zealand's alternative proteins conference, will be held on 4 October 2023 in Melbourne

Following hosting the first-ever and sold out alternative proteins conference for Australia and New Zealand in 2022, Food Frontier is thrilled to announce its premiere event, AltProteins, will return in 2023.

AltProteins 23 will be held on Wednesday, 4 October 2023, in the contemporary, centrally-located Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.

As the leading educator and facilitator in our region’s alternative proteins ecosystem, Food Frontier is proud to again unite industry pioneers, agri-food and policy experts and leading researchers to explore transformative ideas, insights and developments in the space.

In a clear signal of investment and support for emerging proteins, the Victorian Government Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions returns in year two as the Lead Sponsor for the event. We are also thrilled to welcome Change Foods as Tier One Sponsor and Earth by the makers of Coco & Lucas’ Kitchen as a Cocktail Hour Sponsor.

The 2023 event will be bigger and better as the conference expands to accommodate 500 attendees, a near doubling in capacity following the sold out and heavily waitlisted 2022 conference, and includes more concurrent programming. Cookbook author and broadcaster Alice Zaslavsky returns as the MC, bringing her signature levity and joy to the event.

In 2022, the AltProteins conference highlighted the sector’s hunger to engage in the crucial conversations that will catalyse future growth – particularly considering the significant growth opportunities at our doorstep in Asia-Pacific.

As the only dedicated event in Australia and New Zealand exploring plant based meat, cultivated meat and precision fermentation proteins, the AltProteins conference will again provide a unique forum for leaders to explore the critical questions informing the trajectory of alternative proteins down under.

Ticket sales and programming details for AltProteins 23 will be announced in the coming months. Sign up for the event newsletter to keep up to date on future announcements.
