Australian plant-based meat company v2food has made their retail debut, launching in all 61 Drakes Supermarkets across South Australia and Queensland.

From the company that created the burger for Hungry Jack’s Rebel Whopper (which is Burger King in NZ), the new products on grocery shelves include plant-based burgers and mince. The supermarket launch follows v2food’s partnerships with Deliveroo for World Meat-Free Week and Marley Spoon for its meal kits to bring its products direct to Australian consumers.

Drakes Supermarkets Director John-Paul Drake said the team was thrilled to be v2food’s first supermarket partner. “Plant-based meats are growing in popularity around Australia and the demand is growing with our customers. We know that they will be eager to be the first in Australia to buy the products from our shelves,” he said.
