Made With Plants, a Brisbane plant-based foods company, has launched a meat-free mince and series of other plant-based products in select Woolworths stores in Queensland and NSW this week. Company founder Cale Drouin calls the mince its “answer to Beyond Meat…at half the price.”
The Made With Plants Meat-Free Premium Mince is supplied by plant-based company Veef, run by Alejandro Cancino, former executive chef at fine-diner Urbane.
Made With Plants has also released a plant-based streaky bacon and a plant-based burger sauce that Drouin describes as an “orangey, creamy sauce with a bit of spice”. All of the Made With Plants products are exclusive to Woolworths and have been developed in partnership with the supermarket with an aim to, as Drouin says, “give people the opportunity to make better choices on a day-to-day basis.”
