7-Eleven is the latest chain in Australia to launch new plant-based meat options with the introduction of a No Sausage Roll, No Chicken and Lettuce Sandwich and No Beef Pie, as well as a No Egg and Lettuce Sandwich hitting shelves in June.

Julie Laycock, 7-Eleven Australia’s General Marketing Manager explained that taste was an important factor in bringing plant-based products to their stores: “We didn’t just want to have plant-based options,” she said. “[W]e wanted to make sure they were tasty products in their own right.”

The move comes as more Australians are reducing their consumption of meat, with Food Frontier industry data predicting that plant-based meat could be worth $3 billion to the Australian economy by 2030.
